We are so thankful for our volunteers–especially during these unsettling times. Our organization has been fueled by volunteers for years. And the pandemic has presented a definite challenge to our volunteer teams. We are issuing an urgent call for volunteers.
SVdP has had 9 successful Stuff-A-Truck promotions around the city this summer and fall and has just placed 6 additional blue donation boxes in Catholic high school parking lots. Thanks to the generosity of our community, these endeavors have resulted in so many donations which need to be processed. As you know, these donations are either given away to our neighbors in need or sold in one of our two Mission 27 Resale stores to support our mission.
As the holidays and cold weather are approaching, it is imperative that we get all these material goods sorted and distributed. We are appealing to existing and new volunteers to consider coming to assist us whether it be once a week, once a month or whatever time you might have for service to others. We are doing everything possible to provide a safe environment … masks are mandatory, gloves are available, hand sanitizing stations are everywhere and we exercise social distancing wherever possible. It’s so easy to sign up online at www.svdpindy.org/i-want-to-help/#time. If your group is interested in volunteering, please reach out to Darlene Sweeney at (317) 924-1809.
Thanks so much for considering coming back… we miss you.
