SVdP Indy’s 30th Street Food Pantry serves as a vital lifeline for many members of our community who are experiencing food insecurity. Every day, individuals and families turn to this pantry for nourishment and support. However, in recent times, the need for security measures has become increasingly apparent as we seek to ensure the safety and well-being of both volunteers and neighbors. To ensure a secure environment for all, we are seeking the support of off-duty police officers to volunteer some of their time to assist with security during shopping hours at the food pantry.

Your presence would not only enhance the safety of the premises but also provide reassurance and peace of mind to both volunteers and those accessing our services. Your expertise in managing and diffusing potentially challenging situations can make a significant difference in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all who visit the pantry.

Volunteering your time at our 30th Street Food Pantry is an opportunity to directly impact the lives of our neighbors in need. Your commitment to serving and protecting extends beyond your duty hours and embodies the spirit of community policing.

If you are able to dedicate some of your off-duty hours to this cause, please contact Peter Zubler, Executive Director, at (317) 258-2041, or Chris Sutton, Director of Operations, at (317) 281-6481. Your willingness to volunteer your time and expertise is deeply appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
