NOTICE

Due to inclement weather, the Mission 27 Shelby St. store will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 25, and all SVdP Indy facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

BENEFIT CONCERT
Gary reported that a benefit concert will be conducted at Nativity on October 26, 2025, to benefit the work of the Nativity conference. A copy of the email about the Benefit Concert was provided.

OPEN DISCUSSION
The 40 days for 40 beds program will be conducted in 2026.
Discussion on ideas for having a spiritual conference meeting.

CONFERENCE UPDATES (unedited)

ST. JUDE
St. Jude August and September 2025 Update:

  • During August and September, the St. Jude Conference accomplished the following:
  • Our Conference made14 Home Visits which assisted 57 neighbors.
  • We provided rent or utility assistance to 20 families made up of 45 Neighbors. Lack of funds prevented us from helping 22 families.
  • Our monetary assistance including rent, utilities and gift cards totaled $6,105.
  • All combined, including non-Home Visit requests, we provided direct assistance to 130 Neighbors, consisting of 70 adults and 60 children who reside in St. Jude Parish.


GOOD SHEPHERD

  • During August and September Good Shepherd Conference received 92 requests from neighbors.
  • Good Shepherd Conference made 63 Home visits serving 251 neighbors.
  • 174 hours and 1660 miles were expended to help our neighbors.
  • 27 Neighbor requests were No show, cancelled or denied.
  • In September Good Shepherd Conference held Fall food Drive at Good Shepherd Parish.
  • In addition to the food collected $55.00 was given to the 30th Street Pantry operation.

 

HOLY ROSARY
These are our stats for Aug and Sept 2025.

  • We had a total of 19 calls.
  • Utilities- Paid $2040 for 6 neighbors
  • Sent 6 neighbors to the warehouse for furniture and clothing
  • Gave out 3 gas cards for total $75
  • Purchased a water heater $670
  • Purchased gas stove
  • Donation of $1500 to SVDP to purchase beds


NATIVITY
Nativity Conference Report – August and September, 2025

  • During August and September, we received requests for assistance from 39 households and were able to assist 24 of them with utilities, food, and DC referrals.
  • We are still hoping to move forward with hosting a Changing Lives program at Scecina High School.
  • Tom Price is coordinating a group to volunteer regularly at the Love Your Neighbor pantry.
  • Our second annual Renewal and Recruitment Weekend (Sept. 6/7) included a brief talk and appeal by the president during the three Masses and a brief recommitment ceremony led by our pastor during the 11 a.m. Mass. Our recruiting after each Mass yielded 8 new volunteers. Many parishioners also responded generously to our appeal for funding.

ST. MARK
Updates for the St Mark Conference for Sept – Oct 2025:
1) St Mark assisted 88 clients and family members this reporting period
2) Completed 6 home visits and 6 Distribution Center requests
3) Collected furniture and household items from parishioners to assist with need requests
4) Hosted Coffee and Donuts after 2 Masses to promote SVdP and recruit more members
5) Paid 16 utility bills

 

ST. ROCH
For the months of August and September 2025, St. Roch received 36 requests for assistance including utilities, food, furniture, and clothing. Our conference members continue volunteering each week at the Food Pantry, Distribution Center, and the LYN food pantry. We coordinated a St. Roch FESTA day of service that involved 16
volunteers for the Distribution Center and several volunteers as well for the Food Pantry. We are in the process of setting up a day to serve a meal at the Holy Family Shelter and are also setting up a “fill the lot” day for parishioner donations to be dropped off and taken to the Distribution Center by conference members.


HOLY NAME

August – September 2025

  • Continuing to provide financial help for utilities.
  • Conducting home visits and making referrals to the warehouse.
  • Providing financial help for food assistance.
  • Providing a list of agencies where help can be requested if we do not have the funds to help.
  • Volunteering hours in answering help line calls.
  • Volunteering at the Love Your Neighbor Center as well as providing supplies upon request.
