Spiritual Advisor Training
Vincentians desire to grow in their faith through good works for the poor and by deepening their spiritual lives. Spiritual Advisor Trainings for Conference members are held periodically to help nourish members through prayer and reflection. Council Spiritual Advisor, Deacon Tom Horn, will hold a spring training session on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Shelbyville Knights of Columbus Hall in Shelbyville. Do you know someone who is struggling to make ends meet, looking to improve his or her living conditions, or looking for a new purpose? Changing Lives Forever can help! This 18-session program sponsored by the St. Vincent de Paul Society is free and open to all. Its purpose is to help individuals living in poverty improve the quality of their lives. The program matches mentors to participants. Participants have help finding resources to reach their goals for changing their lives. Changing Lives Forever will be held at the Martin Luther King Center on 40th St. The program begins Monday, Sept. 9 and meets twice a week. It will take place Mondays from 5 to 8 pm and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. for 9 weeks. A free dinner will be included.
